What is Ecotourism?

Ecotourism is: “Responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people.” (TIES, 1990)

Rock Farm Slane as an eco-tourist destination

Rock Farm Slane encourages you to participate in the most ecological form of tourism in Ireland. The ethos behind the glamping offering at the Rock Farm is “leave no trace”. The water provided for the jungle showers and baths will be rainwater that is collected from the farm. Our luxury bathroom and loo facilities will provide 100% composting using Joseph Jenkins’s methodology and your cosy wood stoves will use wood harvested from the woods on the estate.

All vegetables and fruit provided will be grown ourselves on the organic farm. We also offer a range of eggs and meat laid and reared organically on the farm as well as freshly baked bread. More importantly we will encourage you to prepare your own food using our ingredients on our specially made BBQs and camp fires.

This farm stay is all about getting back to nature, eating well and living well, offering you a truly comfortable and relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.
