Celebrate Samhain at Rock Farm Slane with Slane Food Circle on Thursday 3rd November 11-4pm
Our Farmers Market is a real celebration of Samhain with free talks, and tastings all around the theme of organic and local food. The market itself is a cheerful combination of artisan food and craft stalls featuring all that’s best in the local area. Expect excellent coffee, Rock Farm organic produce, cheeses, freshly baked breads, cider and much more. Seasonal entertainment like bobbing for apples will keep everyone entertained.
At 11am Carina Conynham, Countess of Mount Charles will lead a free tour of Rock Farm. No booking required. It’s a fascinating insight into organic farming and sustainable building practices on the pioneering and award winning farm. Beginning at 2pm the members of Slane Food Circle will begin talks on their artisan produce. The Cider Mill, Mullagha Farm (Boyne Valley Blue Cheese) and Newgrange Gold (rapeseed oil) will all take part as well as Rock Farm Slane.
This is the last Farmers Market of the year as producers take a well earned winter break. It will reopen in springtime.
A Christmas market will take place in the barn from Wednesday 21st to Friday 23rd December.
