Slane Distillery
Located within the beautifully restored 18th-century stable yard of Slane Castle, Slane Distillery is home to the award-winning Slane Irish Whiskey. Combining centuries of heritage with state-of-the-art whiskey production, the distillery offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the journey from grain to glass. Guided tours take guests through the working distillery, where water from the nearby River Boyne and barley grown on the estate help create its distinctive triple-casked whiskey. Along the way, visitors can discover the history of the Conyngham family, explore the historic buildings and enjoy a guided whiskey tasting. The Conynghams & Slane Castle
Slane Castle has been home to the Conyngham family since 1703, with successive generations serving as custodians of one of Ireland’s most treasured historic estates. Deeply connected to the Castle and its surrounding lands, the family has carefully preserved its heritage while ensuring it continues to evolve for future generations. In recent decades, the late Lord Henry Mount Charles helped place Slane on the world stage through the legendary Slane Concerts, welcoming some of the biggest names in music to the estate. Today, his son Alex and his wife Carina continue that legacy, overseeing the Castle, Slane Distillery and wider estate while championing hospitality, sustainability and innovation in the heart of the Boyne Valley.

The History of
Slane Castle & Concerts
Thin Lizzy headlined the inaugural concert in the summer of 1981 and since then Slane has hosted some of the most memorable and largest outdoor concerts in Ireland. The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Queen, Bob Dylan, Robbie Williams, David Bowie, U2, Eminem, Bruce Springsteen, Kings Of Leon, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis and REM are just some of the world renowned acts that have played at the venue.
