We’ve just won a national award and we are absolutely delighted. Alex and Carina Conyngham have been announced as winners of the ‘Movers & Shakers’ award in the Georgina Campbell Irish Food and Hospitality Awards 2021. It’s a new category in the awards and it rewards both Slane Castle and Rock Farm Slane for our progressive approach in food and hospitality.
Georgina Campbell only gives out 29 awards across the entire hospitality industry in Ireland which makes it even more special.
Georgina is one of the outstanding food writers and her awards are the longest running hospitality awards in the country. She described this year’s awards as “a kind of love letter to Irish food and hospitality.”
It’s been a busy summer here at Rock Farm Slane, despite the challenges thrown up by Covid. Our glamping has been booked out entirely and the self-catering houses have been very busy too. Lime House, Ireland’s biggest straw-bale house, sleeps 22 people and it’s really popular with groups of friends and for family reunions. We’ve all missed being able to get together with friends and family over lockdown. The generous accommodation and wide-open spaces here make people feel very secure and comfortable which is very important to us.
The yurts close for the season at the end of October but the Shepherd’s Huts and our eco lodge self catering houses all stay open all year round. If you’re looking for a lovely autumn break, Rock Farm could be just what you’re looking for.
Of course, we welcome visitors too, especially on Thursdays when our Farmers Market takes place in the Hay Barn. Drop in and check out the bounty of the Boyne Valley here in our rural idyll. We think you’ll like it.
